Crossfase Audio A / B

So ... the only way to crossfade audio between clips A & B is to put A & B in different tracks ?

 

Can't use something similar to this ?

Stack and overlap the clips, then to fade from track 1 to track 2 use the TRANSPARENCY video effect applied to track 2 only.

To fade back to track one, simply reverse the opacity slope as shown here...

this is a 2 track workout... So there is no way to do it in 1 track ,

 

..then to fade from track 1 to track 2 use the .....

The method described above would be linear style, to my way of thinking - an A/B roll.

VP transition effects can dissolve between clips on a single-track, non-linear style. Click the X in the time line.

That's my point ... there's no 'X' in the audio part . The X in the video sections does not affect audio .

Eyes skipped over your word "audio." I spot no way to accomplish an audio crossfade in VP without using an A/B method. If someone else has, they'll chime in...

We don't have audio transition at the moment but it is an to do item.

 

Yes, have to do it by unlink the audio into separate tracks is awkward.
