Applying regions to new file

Hi, I love using WavePad and find it extremely useful. However there are a couple of things that I can't figure out that are driving me crazy!

 

Apparently, regions are tied to a particular file. If I define a bunch of regions then save a file with a new name, the regions no longer apply to the new file (even though the files are the same length, etc.).

 

If I save as project, it opens with the bookmarks preserved, but selecting regions doesn't work. When I try to select a region, I get an error message that says "The region you have selected belongs to a file which is not currently open in the WavePad project window".

 

You can edit the Region name, but not the file name it applys to.

 

How do I preserve regions over different file names, or apply regions from one file/project to another???
