assign cookies to have video to play once per visit

Can anyone help me assign a cookie to make a video play just once per visit? I know a little about a lot and a lot about a little.....cookies is in the Know LITTLE about category.

I would appreciate detailed help with this function.

I will be using this function on a SHTML page NOT a PHP page if that matters.

Bob, I do not understand what is your problem.

There are javascript functions to work with cookies.

So, algorythm is simple as piece of cake.

 

1) read your cookie parameter

2) if it is > 1 then kill videotag

3) if no set cookie

 

so, nothing special...

It's nothing special for someone who is used to this language. I am not.....that is why I asked for a detailed explanation. I found many examples on the web but they are usually scattered pieces of script and not explained in a way that I can understand from start to finish.

Would it be possible for you to show me a sample script for this simple as cake function?
