Barbie-liever
I'm doing a piano reduction of a score with melody line and lyrics. Chords below the melody are at steady 3/4 pace, but the words can tie over measures or be syncopated. I need melody stems up, and chord stems down. Any suggestions? Related problem is how to show, within the treble clef, that the vocal has a rest while the accompaniment plays a chord. Is it possible to raise the level of a rest higher on the staff? (In Microsoft Word or Publisher you can press Alt and arrow up or down, left or right to precisely position items.)
