roddie
Hi All, I'm still quite new to VP, but have been poking around with it for a few hours and am quickly learning. I'm putting together a collection of hockey highlights featuring my son, and am wondering how I should go about freezing the video for a second or two (optional) so that I can add a circle/arrow (I've figured out how to add text) show who he is on the ice. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks! Roddie
borate
Move the scrubber to where you want the freeze. Click the SPLIT icon. Click the CAMERA icon. This will create a still frame in the media library. Drag that file onto the next video track (the overlay track - just above the main track). Have this freeze start at the split point. Shorten or lengthen the freeze frame by dragging its right-hand border (double-arrows will appear at the pointer site). Now, on the main track that has the moving video, click in the segment of the clip that is under the freeze frame and drag it to the right until it lines up with the end of the freeze frame. This leaves a gap. The result will be video that freezes at the split point, then resumes from where it left off at the end of the freeze frame. roddie
Thank you, borate! So I guess, to take it further, I can edit the still frame in whatever graphic editor to add the actual callout? Edit -- Enter DrawPad. Worked like a charm. Thanks again!!
