removing enclosed space effect on voice recording

Hi,

I have received a voice recording made to a stick mic on a PC, however the small room I guess the guy used has caused the voice to sound like it was recorded in a small room !

I need it to sound as if it is being spoken out of doors.

I wouldnt call it echo, as echo means hearing each word again a split second or even longer afterwards.

Reverberation is also too grand an effect unless it comes in many guises !

How do I rid the recording of this using Wavepad and make it sound normal as if he was outdoors ?

There is also a steady hum throughout from a machine, I can remove that by sampling and applying filter.
