Manually timed tasks

I have a large category of tasks that can't be timed using the HourGuard software since they are done on location (photo shoots). I'd like to be able to create substasks of this type and then enter the expended time manually. Can I do this and if so, how?

I trust you got your response looks like its been a while. What i have done is to do a false start stop for five to six tasks, each with about a second duration say. Then i went on with my business, came back and edited the seconds avoiding the conflict of periods running into each other.
