clrlogic
Hello, Does the latest version of Broadcam support HTML5 video? We want users of iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) to be able to view the video stream. Thanks!
Damian Lettie
We want users of iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) to be able to view the video stream. Starting in the most recent release (v2.25), iOS users are able to view pre-recorded files using HTML5 and live streams using HTTP Live Streaming (HLS). clrlogic
Version 2.25 is the version I purchased, but I cannot get any iOS device to view a live stream. I cannot find any mention of the method for publishing an HLS live stream; the only Live Output Options I have are "High Quality Flash" and "Low Quality" Flash. What do I need to do to enable or publish a live stream using HLS? Thanks in advance for your help.
Damian Lettie
I cannot find any mention of the method for publishing an HLS live stream; the only Live Output Options I have are "High Quality Flash" and "Low Quality" Flash. There are no options for HLS because it's always enabled and there's only one hard-coded quality. BroadCam automatically decides whether to serve Flash or HLS based on the user agent header passed by your browser when you make a connection. Are you using the standard Safari browser on the iOS devices? Are you using a direct ("deep") link to the stream, or navigating to it from the "Your Video Stream Links" page? mark.s.lowe
I have the same issue. It doesn't work for my IOS devices and I'm using the embed coding to the stream on my website. The coding from the "Your Video Stream Links" page doesn't look like it will change to HLS if Flash doesn't work.
