Golden records -- so sound as I record

I recently downloaded the Golden Records program to my iMac. It records the tape/record fine either through a direct line into the computer's stereo plug, or through an iMic into a USB port. I can do all the stuff with the file once it's been created.

 

BUT, I can't get it to play on the computer's speakers while the tape/record is being played into the computer, and I can't find any setting in the "Golden Records Wizard" that will make it do so. I need to be able to hear what it's doing so -- among other things -- I know when to start the tape/record or stop the tape/record. Help!
