Hello everybody. My mobile phone records video in 16:9 format. I would like to 'convert' it into a 1:1 format which fits Facebook and Insta news feed best but without black strips/borders top and bottom. What is the simpliest way to achieve this? Would you put it down for me step by step? Should I do it before of after cutting the video? I know there's something to do with 'Zoom' effect but it seems pretty complicated to me. I'm looking for the simpliest way... Greg

Every time I use the zoom effect on a clip, it stretches the video clip to make it fit. (So it won't have the black bars I guess.) However, it looks really weird and I don't mind having the black bars anyway. I can't seem to turn it off though and I cannot find any info online. I keep messing with the aspect ratio but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!

When I operate my video and audio equipment, it works in the space it's in. When I take the captured raw video for editing, I always need to raise the audio level, between 150 and 300%. This isn't difficult and I am almost automatic in my execution. My issue is that the sound visualization is almost a flat line. Thus when I need to edit based on sound, the visual for breaks is very difficult to find. Could we add a 'zoom' feature to the audio visualization? I'm not asking to see a smaller timeline, but a taller waveform.

I was working on several projects, and for each, I've added an image to use as my title cards. Theoretically speaking, the title cards should be identical as they are using the exact same ones. However, in one of the projects, there are black borders at the sides. When I checked the image's property for each file, the aspect ratio was the same at 1920 x 1080. There aren't any effects being used either, as they are merely dropped into the timeline. What could be causing this discrepancy amongst the projects? Any help is appreciated.

Videopad not able to handle video effects on overlay used 8.63 version. I am using a paid version of videopad. i emailed them with my registered email id. Some steps were told i followed everyone of them to the T. the version that was asked to install in the instructions was 6.01. when i did it woudnt open the file that was edited in version 8.63. there was a updates beta version of F 8.64 which was unreleased i tried with that also but the effect was same as version 8.63 with the hang ups crashing. the laptop i m using is lenovo i7 10th gen processor with 16 gb ram with nvidea 4gb graphic card. earlier i used videopad in mac - this software was running better in mac but in windows its not performing the same. i regret buying this software. its not only wasted my money and my time.

I downloaded the Mixpad app to Chromebook, but I cannot find how to zoom when I want a detailed edit. I'm not entirely sure the effects are being applied either. Has anyone else noticed some functionality missing?

For my project I have cropped my videos (1:1) and zoomed to a 16:9 aspect ratio. This leaves a black border on the left and right sides of my videos, which is not a problem, but I am wondering if there is a way to center my videos so that the black bars on the left and right sides are identical widths. I am currently dragging the videos to center them by eye which is not accurate enough, as one side is always slightly wider than the other side. Is it possible to center videos so the black bars are exactly the same on either side? I am very new at using this program and any help would be appreciated!

I am trying to publish a movie that;s a combination of videos where some were filmed horizontally and some vertically. When I'm editing the footage it all looks perfect in the preview but after I publish it the Horizontal video shrinks so that the width matches the width of the vertical video. I tried playing with some setting but the most i can do is have the Horizontal video full size but then the vertical video gets zoomed in really close so that the width matches the width of the horizontal video. I would like the Horizontal videos to be full size and the Vertical videos to be "full size" so that the height matches the height of the horizontal videos. I understand that there will be black bars on the sides of the vertical videos, and thats fine, thats how it shows up in the preview, it just dosnt publish that way. Can I get some help?

Hi, my zoom effects are gone in the saved video file. I have applied a zoom video effect with many keyframes in it. The Sequence preview shows the video as intended. Exporting it as a video file, the effects don't show anymore. I'm using v4.11 on windows 8.1. Tried different file outputs (.avi etc), same problem. Can anyone help me?

Buongiorno, scrivo dall'Italia e purtroppo non conosco l'inglese. Sarei interessato a sperimentare quegli effetti di scorrimento o zoom dell'immagine sulle foto, (effetto Ken Burns). Da due giorni ho installato WIDEO PAD. Purtroppo dalle istruzioni del programma non ho capito i passaggi e i tasti da usare per ottenere questi effetti. Grazie a alcuni tutorial in lingua italiana e trovati su internet, sono già riuscito a creare la mia prima raccolta fotografica con titolo e effetti di dissolvenze. Alcuni di questi tutorial che ho trovato, effettivamente spiegano anche la procedura e i tasti da usare per ottenere l'effetto Ken Burns. Purtroppo questi tasti nell'attuale versione del programma non esistono più o sono stati sostituiti e non son so da quali. DOMANDA: Utilizzando l'attuale versione del programma e partendo delle foto già caricate in VIDEO PAD, potete illustrare gli attuali passaggi da effettuare per ottenere questo effetto zoom o di scorrimento sulle foto? I want to know if I can have variable speeds when zooming in a image. Can I start slow, then faster and slow down to a stop?

I have a video I took while I was riding in a car. I want to crop out the bottom portion of the clip so as not to see the car. I can easily crop the bottom portion out, but I want to vertically re-center the cropped image in the middle of the frame. Is this possible? Right now the resulting video image sits on a large black space kind of like an unbalanced "letterbox" effect. It's distracting to me. I tried playing with the zoom to accomplish the same thing, but I don't like the way the zoom appears to stretch the image to fit the space vertically. Is there a way to constrain zoom to maintain the same height of the original space but relocate the image, perhaps? Thanks in advance.

I've used the free version for almost a year. Within the past couple months, I purchased the paid version. I had been using Version 3.x, but had a hard drive failure. After getting things reloaded, I see that version 4.21 installed. I'm having some issues with the Zoom effect that I never experienced on the older version. I made a short test scenario. I have a panoramic photo that I apply a zoom effect to. The beginning of the clip I zoom in with a 16:9 aspect ratio so that the photo will fill the screen and position the tool frame on the left side of the photo and set a keyframe on all 4 settings (screenshot #1). I move to the end of the clip and reposition the tool frame to the right edge of the photo (which automatically adds 4 more keyframes - screenshot #2). The low-res preview looks perfect. I exported as a .mp4 for YouTube(1080p) with 29.97 FPS. The resulting video shows the zoomed panning part positioned in the lower left corner and the full panorama photo is visible behind the zoomed section, except for its colors appear to be inverted (screenshot #3). I believe this to be a bug, but would like to see if someone can replicate the issue. I have verified that it is not an issue with that particular photo as it was an issue on at least three other photos that I attempted to apply a zoom to. I'm using the free v4.10 and I'm making a video consisting of photos. I want to use zoom on a picture that does not have an aspect ratio of 4:3 or 16:9, but when I try, and I click on "None" for "Force aspect ratio:", it stretches the picture to fit one of the two ratios. The picture I'm using is in a portrait orientation and I want to zoom/pan from left to right while the whole picture from top to bottom is in the shot. I realize that the video will be narrow and will have thick black bars on both sides, but that's what I'm going for. Is there a way to zoom on a picture that's not 4:3 or 16:9 without distortion? I was able to do this with the older VideoPad v2.41. Thanks for any help.

Hi I am trying to rescale an overlay image but when the value gets below 90%, the whole image disappears and the preview goes black.I have tried inserting smaller versions of the same image, but it always inserts at the same size. Cropping has not helped. Any suggestions welcome (updated from an older version of VideoPad yesterday). Also, any suggestions re how to zoom in on the overlay? In my previous version there was an "auto zoom" effect which was great, but it doesn't seem to be available in the newer version. Thanks in advance.

I am using VideoPad 2.2. I often load in clips of 15-30 mins into the Clip Preview. Obviously, for precise editing, I have to time-zoom in (Press the "+" symbol or Ctrl and "+", but no slider — at least that I can find) to see the in and out points. But as soon as I make the edit and move to a different clip, the preview clip windows reverts to a full-clip view. Restoring a detailed view requires a long annoying series of Ctrl+'s, for example, 20 clicks to zoom down to 1 minute of a 20 minute clip. Am I missing something? If not, was this operation made more convenient in 3.x? In that regard, i there a list anywhere that tells us the difference between 2.x and 3.x? Thanks!

I just purchased the latest version of Videopad since the zoom and pan features were not in the free version, however, I found they are not in the full version either. the utube tutorials that people have posted clearly show them in the effects options, but they are using older versions of the program. I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks

I'm a new user, started with v. 2.41 in September 2012 and had some issues with audio/video synching. NCH's fix was to have me download the beta version 3.0. More issues. Today I downloaded the newest v. 3.0 Some issues have been resolved, but I still cannot find how to Zoom in or out of a single still clip. What I did in v. 2.41 was display a photograph, then zoom in on it, over a few seconds. Nice. I can't find where to do this in version 3 and NCH support does not answer my question. I did find a Zoom feature in "Transitions" but I'm not wanting to zoom between clips...I want to zoom IN on a still photo. Anyone who can help?

Is there any way to zoom the camera using debut? I found a zoom option under Options > Devices > Device Settings > Camera Control but its not selectable. Is there something I have to do first or do only certain webcams work with it? What am I missing? I appriciate any tips or other ways to zoom.
