  1. Hi Team What I really really miss by this program are speed adjustment options via curve. Other softwares have a great interface for it. See here a sample. https://images.iskysoft.com/filmora-video-editor/topic/guide/customize-speed-ramps.png Is there really no way to adjust it in videopad as well?
  2. Hi! Hoping all your sounds are OK. When mixed down, the result is a clip with the correct duration but in lower keys (it sounds horrible). I don't know how that happened, neither how to fix it, can you help me?
  3. Hi NCH After replying to a question regarding changing the speed of a clip/part of a clip, is there any possibility that a SPEED effect could be incorporated into the FX "Motion" options. I can see this being useful where a gradual acceleration or deceleration of a clip could be achieved using keyframes. Currently this can't be done without chopping up the clip into small pieces manually and applying a different speed to each. Nat
  4. Hi Team I am looking for a function how to slow down my video gradually? I know you can change the speed in % but is there not something like a gradually break? Something similar what you have by the sound FX? when you can slowly fade in or fad out? Regards
  5. Hi, can I speed up preview playback? I know how to change clip speed. But, I don't know how to speed up preview playback. When I have several video tracks and when I want to check everything is ok, I want to preview as 2-4 time faster. Sincerely Ryan.
  6. I want to use some program, perhaps VideoPad, to time shift over-the-air TV programs. I haven't bought any full program yet because of slow processing speeds. Hauppauge TV outputs .ts and .mpg formats. Clipping the front and back commercials takes a minute but outputing/exporting one hour of TV takes upwards of 12 hours. Are there convert/export/video format options that could speed up the process. Seems like unpacking a .ts container, clipping the front and back, and repacking should take only a few minutes.
  7. Hi all I'm new here and new to VideoPad (Professional, V6.10), coming back to video editing after a looong break (last software I used was Adobe Premiere 5.1, back when we thought MiniDV was the best thing ever). But I digress. I'm having severe usability problems with the speed of VideoPad. My PC is Windows 7 running on an i7-4790 (4 core, 8 thread) at 3.6GHz, 16GB RAM, fast-enough SSD [>500MB/s linear read and write, ~40MB/s 4kb random read and write], nvidia GTX1070 video and 4k monitor. My project is a four-camera shoot using mixed video sources - two 1080p HD, one 2k7 and one 4k 2160p - and the event I was filming was about an hour. The source files total about 52GB and my aim is to do a non-linear edit to combine the footage, switching from view to view as the event unfolds. All the source files are stored on the SSD. Editing is taking absolutely ages because the Clip Preview and Sequence Preview windows aretaking up to several minutes to respond to moving the cursor in the timeline (this with just two video tracks in place and no transitions or cuts, yet). The thumbnail previews on the timeline can take ten minutes to render. I have done the usual thing of setting the preview resolution to low (512 x 288), made sure that the the cache files go onto the SSD rather than a mechanical disk, and so on; Task Manager reveals nothing much going on in the background (VideoPad is typically eating 50-98% of CPU) and Resource Manager shows there are no unexpected disk transfers going on in the background. Way back with Premiere 5.1 I found the previews pretty much kept up with what I was doing and, even allowing for the fact that there's a lot more data to churn around, my desktop PC is far, far faster than the 20-odd-years-ago machine that I was using then. Can anyone please make any suggestions about what I should look for? NB I can't just re-size everything to 1080p because the higher def cameras were chosen and placed so I could pan and zoom in the edit. But I haven't started any transitions or editing yet: I have spent nearly a day trying to sync the start points of just two video tracks, not because of ineptitude but because the system is behaving so slowly. Again I ask, can anyone make any useful suggestions please?
  8. Hello Recently i have decided to embark on a custom editing workstation however am on a budget and therefore doing heavy consideration in selecting parts and have already decided upon 16gb 3000mh DDR4 ram so now the main issue i have is choosing the cpu and whether to get one with a higher clock speed or high number of cores and threads in order to speed up the editing and exporting process and make things more efficient. Thanks for any suggestions or recommendations regarding this issue
  9. so I just went to my local computer store ... according to him, I should not be having this issue related to ram ... or anything else regarding my pc... I have an I5 laptop with 4 gigs of ram... my issue is when I record the video itself is not only out of sync but displaying faster than the sound... as though it is set to 1.5x or 2x somewhere in the settings .... however it does this randomly... other times it records at regular speed but simply be out of sync... and there are other times when it does not have any issue at all... i have just un installed and newly reinstalled the program itself... i am not sure what the issue is at this point... so i thought i would try here before spending money on ram or something else that would not fix the issue i am having... wondering if anyone else ever faced this issue and was able to fix it... using debut 3.01 i5 4gigs of ram
  10. Hello, I really need urgent help here please, is there a way to increase part of clip seed, when I selected the start and end of the portion I wanted to increase the speed and right click on it i didn't get any option to increase the speed, I only got an option to delete the selected area. Any help please..
  11. Hey guys As you know I've been concerned about the speed of exporting videos with release 4.58 and above (before then they seemed to generated more quickly). I know NCH is aware that not all CPU power is being taken by the export (and will hopefully speed it up soon) but that aside Borate (or possibly one of the other tech specialists) mentioned that the export fps could affect the time if the video output was not the same fps as the source video(s). So this week I generated my entire video with an fps of 20 (for both cameras) and exported with the same fps (usually I export at 25fps as per YouTube recommendations). It definitely seemed to export more quickly - quicker than real time which was my recent experience with VP. Can this be true? Incidentally the video quality at 20fps vs 25fps was (to my older eyes anyway) indistinguishable. So my 20 minute video finished in about 15 minutes this week, hurrah! Just to muddy the water a little, this was the first video I generated with 16Gb installed (instead of 12Gb) but I didn't really see much more memory being used anyway so maybe this had no effect? Anybody know about fps and export speed, either NCH or other users? Video generated: .mp4 format, 8192 bps, 128 kHz audio, 20fps
  12. Hi guys As a result of some things mentioned in support responses over the last few days, I'm wondering if there is any link between preview rendering resolution and the final rendering time taken? If, for example, I preview in full HD, does VP still do exactly the same process for rendering the final HD video (exporting it)? In which case, are the different preview resolutions only there so that VP can generate the previews more quickly (along with any transitions)? Just wondering if this is something I can do to speed up export on 4.58 (whilst the new version which does use all available CPU when exporting and will be therefore quicker) is still being tested.
  13. Hi! This is my first time on the forum and I need your help! Occasionally, immediately after I've recorded a track, when I play it back the audio is extremely fast, as if I've put an effect on it to quadruple the speed. Is this a defect in the software? Does this happen to anyone else? I record tracks for a radio station and this is very frustrating, not to mention time consuming when I have to re-record everthing. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
  14. Hello everyone. I am having a major problem with VIdeopad. Ever since I got it a few months ago, I have been having so many problems. The most irritating one is Videopad buffers on every FREAKING transition and image. Before you go and say that I need to read the FAQ. I did, every word of it. I have Videopad (with nothing else running. Like NOTHING (besides Chrome)) running on an SSD, with DDR3 24gb of ram, an i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor, and windows 10. I also have an EVGA GTX 970 SSC. I am trying to be a youtuber, but THE most irritating thing is video editing. I tried premiere pro and disliked it. I tried basically every software available that fits my need for video editing. Then I found Videopad. I tried it and loved it. Never wanting to change, I use it for everything, but I CANNOT STAND THE BUFFERING. My question is. What more does Videopad need besides a nearly empty SSD, 24gb of ram/memory and an i7 at 4GHz to not stop it from buffering after inserting a blank image?? Also I should mention that my editing resoultion is only at 768x432 @30fps while rendering only a 9 min .mp4 video @1080p60 (2.12GB EDIT: 15 minutes after posting this. The image (now being rendered for grand total of an hour) STILL BUFFERS. It's only 2.217 seconds long??
  15. Hi. I have a clip that needs to be sped up more than 800%. I know I can export the sped up clip, and speed that clip up, but that is tedious, and I would much rather be able to do it quickly. Is there any way around this?
  16. Hello, I'm currently using Video Pad version 4.33. I used to have an older version (don't remember what it was exactly, but I got the latest there was back in April 2015), and I can tell a lot has changed since then. I must say, I greatly love the new means of editing individual clips. However, something is now greatly lacking compared to what I had before. Before, I would alter a track's speed and the preview would update more or less instantaneously (after loading changes). Now, no matter how long I wait or restart the application, the preview just doesn't seem to catch up to it. The preview would start for a few seconds, but then freeze for the rest of the sequence. After noticing this several times, I can tell it happens regardless of how simple the project is or how many videos are being used. All it takes is one clip changing speed, and the preview continuously freezes and interrupts. Now, back before I updated to 4.33, this would never happen. So what caused it to step back in quality, and how can I work around it? Thanks, Nathan
  17. Hi everyone! I've noticed that when using deshaker first pass (stabilizing) is being done using all available cores but then when it says "converting video file" only one core is used no meter which encoder I use. Is it possible to run the second pass on all available cores? Without it the process is painfully slow for longer clips. Thanks!
  18. I have downloaded and installed the free ExpressBurn application for home use. I see from the Help file that one can set parameters like the pause between tracks, overburn (for recording longer material than normal on a particular CD-R), etc. But I cannot find any tabs or preference options in order to set such choices. I should be very grateful for any help.
  19. My goal is to shorten the overall length of a song in MixPad. A song runs for about 3 minutes, but I want it to run for 2. So I decided to increase the playback speed. So far, I have split the music clip and placed them into two different tracks. (I want the beginning to stay the same.) With the split clip selected, I clicked on Playback Speed and increased it. However, the timing does not change as I thought it would. How do I do this?
