Maybe a dumb question, but how do I record in mono? I searched the manual, found a few posts about it saying to "press the Stereo button" (where is that?), or converting stereo to mono, but can't figure it out. Thanks! Scott

i have the steinberg yamaha ur12 audio interface. I have the midi in yamaha asio. I also use a keyboard to record directly. It wont record in stereo so i put it in mono. i can hear it play from the keybord into the interface in stereo. but when i play it back on the mixpad it is in mono. when i unhook the interface and put it back to windows default i plug my headphones into the computer directly it plays in stereo and through my receiver. but when i mix a song on some headphones and my car stereo the instruments i record on the mixpad are on the right side. but when i play the mixed down song on my computer its stereo. Im trying to figure out what i can do to have consistency in stereo.

I have installed V1.30....on two machines. One is XP and the other Vista..... Both are running BUT the stream is mono though I am feeding stereo audio from the same source. I can set the audio to one channel and it still comes out mono on BOTH channels on a phone or PC listening to the stream. IS there something wrong or is this normal? I could not find anything in the help menu or manual. Surely I have missed something but I cannot see how. Would appreciate an answer asap. Tnx Chris in SE Texas of course

I am working with WavePad 5.68 (registered), editing stereo voice recordings and converting them to mono. When I convert, either using Edit - Convert Channels or using Save File As and selecting Mono in the Format field, the overall volume falls by about 6dB. I guess this is due to the software taking the average of Left and Right amplitudes, instead of simply adding left and right. This introduces problems of distortion and exaggerated noise, when I then boost the level back up to normal. Is there another way to convert stereo to mono at full volume? One way that seems to work is Edit - Split file - into its Component Channels, then use Edit - Paste Mix to recombine them. This is messy and time-consuming; surely there's a better way? Any suggestions gratefully received.
