  1. Using PhotoStage I created a slideshow which is about 45 minutes long. I can get it to play fine as an MP4 but don't know how to get it onto a DVD. I used the export -> DVD Movie Disc . It creates several files (I guess an ISO but can't figure out for the life of me how to burn it to a DVD. This process seems very simple but i'm obviously missing some key steps. Any guidance would be appreciated Still playing around with this to try and get it to burn to a DVD. I found step by step instructions from a discussion about Burning a DVD with VP - I followed them word for word but nothing ends up on the DVD.. Does this matter? I have tried using DVD+R or DVD-R Burning a DVD with VP Open your generated mp4 in VP and edit it. Click the Export Video tab on the toolbar and select DVD Movie Disc. Enter a Name and select the Burner. as Borate indicates above. The default might show Image File. but click the down arrow and select your DVD writer. Choose Format and AR Click Create. This open another setup window. I can get to here and then if boots me out... and the message that I get is Error "Failed to save your slideshow. Verification of burn failed" Check the Verify Burn box. If you have added bookmarks to your video during editing you can choose to use these as chapters in the finished article by checking the appropriate box. If you want a menu on your DVD then click the Add Menu button Set up a menu (if required) by choosing the template ; titles, background images etc. Click Save Menu. This returns to the main setup screen....(The Burn option may be greyed out if there is not a disc in the drive.) Open the DVD writer and insert a DVD. (I prefer to use an RW disc as you can check things are working OK beforehand) This now activates the Burn tab Click Burn VP asks if it is OK to overwrite existing data on the RW disc. Click Overwrite Disc is checked, erased and your video is then burned and the drive opened. Close drive for Verifying the burn Burn copy discs if required. The completed disc should play OK in your DVD player. (Always does here... ) If you export your project first as (let's say an mp4 or avi etc) you can use the more dedicated NCH Express Burn to create your DVD instead of using the burning options built into VP (which in general, are perfectly adequate) . Nat Thanks Joe
  2. Can Videopad make DVDs that will play on an ordinary DVD player through a TV set? After editing, I've been going to "export DVD movie" then "DVD movie disc". This makes DVDs that will play on the computer, but at lower quality / resolution than Preview, but when I put the disc in my TV's DVD player I get "disc error, please eject the disc, playback feature may not be available on this disc". What's going wrong?
  3. I have been trying to eliminate audio clicks at the very beginning of the DVD recording. It occurs right at the beginning for less than one second. The clicks are not on MP4 files that I save to my computer. The computer copies are exact copies of what is burned to the DVD. I have been able to change the clicks to make it less annoying, but have not been able to eliminate them. I was adjusting both video and audio rates on the DVD when burning a disk. I know it is a VIDEO PAD software issue because this problem did not occur on a different program from a different company.
  4. I have the impression that the program is setting the resolution of a DVD to be burned automatically itself, without any dialogue to the user. I have a Full HD movie with 1.5 hours playtime. Does ist fit with best resolution 1920*1080 on a single layer DVD? I tried both, single layer DVD and double layer DVD and both appears to be completely written whilst burning. This makes no sense. It seems that the resolution of the single layer DVD has been reduced in order to fit on the SL DVD. Thats fine, but I would like to be informed about! The support material is in this respect not helpful. Thank you
  5. I captured a bunch of VHS tape using an analog-to-DV-video capture device (a SONY DVMC-DA2 media converter). The result was a huge 720x480 .avi file. I first converted this to an .mp4 file. I am trying to produce a 4x3 DVD from the .mp4 using videopad. I am struggling with getting the settings right, so that the DVD provides an image that is full screen in a 4x3 window. So far no luck. Can someone please suggest a process to getting this created? While we're at it, is there a way to reset all videopad parameters to default, to be sure I am starting out well? Thanks! Steve
  6. I created/converted an AVI video to DVD. The video plays fine on LCD and PC LED monitor. When played on a Big Screen (Samsung) LED the colors saturate within a few seconds of operation. Any suggestions as to what may be wrong with my method of conversion/creation from AVI format to DVD format?
  7. What type of blank DVD media is recommended for creating DVD for use on TV?
  8. Hello, I just noticed that the newer versions of vidoepad are not capable of exporting 720x576 mpeg files, which is, as far as I know the standard for DVDs. The nearest export setting for mpeg is 768x576, but that isn't part of the DVD standard. Whenever I manually enter 720x576 as mpeg export resolution, I'm asked whether I want to to crop or resize the video which both leads to black bars on various sides of the rendered video. Any suggestions? Yours Serafin
  9. Hello, As far as I can see, there ist still no possibility to export 16:9 videos as anamorphic mpegs, which would be vital for DVD authoring of widescreen videos. Anamorphic export should be possible following this article: http://www.nch.com.au/kb/10231.html. Maybe the anamorphic formats are available when exporting directly to DVD but since Videopad has no serious authoring capabilities, this isn't really a way to go. DVD specifications allow the following formats: - 720x576 square pixels for "normal" 4:3 videos - 720x576 anamorphic for 16:9 videos In the second case the video is compressed horizontaly and is stretched by the playing device later. With videopad mpeg export the only way to get 16:9 videos exported is via "letterboxing", means: exporting at 720px width with black bars on top of and below the 16:9 video. That isn't a decent way to do it. Or did you ever watch a commercial DVD with a 16:9 movie with black bars on top and bottom? So I think it's about time that anamorphic output is added to Videpad export features. 10. I am a new user. I am using just regular photos and trying to burn to regular DVD to play in a regular DVD player. I have experimented with different output options and also different photo resolutions but I keep getting a very pixelled, digitalized image. What is the best format to put these in to get a better quality DVD? This is for photo stage.
  11. Hi, I got Express Burn to burn a DVD, but I am not getting the files to play in continuous format. It did work fine, before I had to go to Windows 10, under windows 7, it was perfect. Christian at NCH said to select the option to select chapters, as I wrote back, I do not see this option. No rely yet. This has been a nightmare this program since going to Windows 10. I have re installed as I have 4.68 version. Thanks for any help Mike
  12. Hi, The VOB file created in the image file when exporting my project as a Movie Disc does not contain video, only sound. I can export as an AVI file fine so wonder what's wrong. Details are: Using VideoPad 4.33 on a Windows 8.1 PC with Intel Core i5 CPU @ 2.80GHz 8GB RAM Video Format set to PAL Screen 16:9 Average bitrate 4000kbps; Maximum 7000kbps (reduced from 6000 and 8000) Burning to a DVD rather than an Image File makes no difference. Any thoughts would be gratefully received.
  13. I have a finished video, that finally plays in my DVD player but I cannot figure out how to add a PLAY button so that a user can load the DVD and not have it just start playing and keep looping through. How do I add the PLAY button and how do I stop the looping?
  14. trying to convert a dvd to avi and keep getting the error saying abnormal execution problem im using version 1.20 on winXP computer.
