  1. I have just updated to Videopad 5.01 today, and I am replying here to share something similar. Windows Media Player has always played any video that I created in VP perfectly prior to 5.01. But now Windows Media Player plays the sound of the vid but displays only a black screen. (I have tested this with a video that has a white screen at the start, to test whether WMP was playing the first frame of the video or nothing. It plays nothing as the screen remained black throughout a video that had not one black frame in it.) Now the data seems to be all there, as when I load into Sony Vegas the completed video that 5.01 had rendered, it seems to display and play correctly. But I just thought it was worth mentioning that prior to 5.01, VP rendered vids always played fine in WMP. But since 5.01, they do not display any picture at all in WMP. I am rendering a VP video in HitFilm as another test. I will report on how that goes soon. Thanks guys.
  2. Yes good sir, I certainly have. I posted the screenshot from the preview to give an indication of the final export video artefacts. I understand that the preview may well be of a lower quality and I don't care that much about what the preview looks like, but the final export looks the same. To answer your question, for the export formats/encoding I have tried so far: Preset: always custom (The reason is I want 60fps on the final video, and using HD 1080p only gives the 29 NTSC output.) File Format: I have tried .mp4, .flv and .avi Resolution: seeing as I am exporting to youtube at 1080p. I have been using the 1920x1080p - youtube1080p resolution. frame rate: 60fps, with the constant framerate box checked. For encoder options, I have tried both H264 and MPEG4 In both cases I have set the slider to the highest quality settings. for MPEG4 I have left the averate bitrate at 8192 and highest bitrate at 16384 (which seems default.) for audio I have left the setting at 320 kbits/sec. for H264 I have left the audio bitrate at 320 kbits/sec. And props for recognising dishonored 2. Yeah I am enjoying it very much. I preordered it so I could get my vids up on youtube as soon as it was officially released. Unfortunately, I got stuck with technical issues. grrr. That said, thank you both for the replies, much appreciated, and hopefully get this resolved soon. The strangest thing is that all the different outputs are tiny for this particular vid, 1 - 4 Gb. Yet all my other videos were in the order of 15 - 25 Gb. This seems like the biggest problem to me. I don't know what is going on with that? cheers again.
  3. image hosting Hi guys. Have run into a problem with major loss of quality when exporting a video in Videopad. Up until now, i have had no issues, and the video quality has been fine. But on this particular video, I am running into the same loss of quality regardless of how i try to export it, no matter what settings or encoder options. The screenshot above is taken from the video previewer, and the preview is in 1920 x 1080.you can clearly see the artefacts. the other thing is that my other videos, done in exactly the same way, using all the same recording software, and working in Videopad, are around the 20Gb size. But this video, no matter the export settings, comes out at around 3Gb. I have tried many different settings, including the standard ones that have always worked up until now, but I get the same loss of quality it seems. image sharing sites As you can see here, the source footage does not have these artefacts in them. But they are there in the Videopad preview, (even if I set the preview to the source resolution, 1920x1080) and in all of the export videos regardless of settings. Any help appreciated, as I really need to have this video uploaded as soon as possible! New release game and all that! otherwise Videopad has been very good up to this point in terms of ease of use and quality of export footage. Strange that this should be happening. Cheers and thanks for any help.
  4. Thank you Allen for this reply. Just read it now. I will let you know how it all goes. Hugely appreciated. [edit] Hmmm. C:\Users\Steve\Desktop\images lets play ...is the current directory structure of the "images lets play" folder on the desktop. I think we may have found a big part of the problem...[/edit]
  5. Hi NotADevWinkWink. Thank you for your reply. I know that the vast majority of the files are in the correct place, as I simply removed the directory off the desktop and placed it back there after the install. So that shouldn't be the problem. There were a few files in other places, perhaps too many to be under the bug you mentioned however. So it looks like either a very time consuming job of looking through the notepad document and putting all the other files in their appropriate places again, or getting a new copy of VP. Will I have to buy outright the newer version or can I upgrade from my existing copy? I have a legit copy, and could show the email I bought it with. Thank you.
  6. Hi Telephony and Nationalsolo. Thank you for the replies. Nationalsolo, as you mentioned, when I open the project, it comes up with this window: If I choose to open the autosave, VP just opens a blank file with nothing there. And if I choose to open the original project, it comes up with the blank Resolve Missing Files window. Now interestingly enough, the same thing happens with virtually all the .vpj files (all except one early one), not just this particular latest one one. And surely they can't all be corrupted? Also the original data is all in the same place, I moved the root directory off the desktop before the reinstall, and placed it back on the desktop after the reinstall. So all the files should be in the correct place for VP to find them. Is it possible there is something gone wrong with the way VP searches for the files, some tag or something? I also opened the file with notepad, and most if not all the information seems to be there: Any further thoughts? Thank you for the help.
  7. Hi Guys. I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 onto my PC, and am having this problem when I load some (though not all) of my projects. Really want to fix this if i can, as the projects are sizable and have taken tons of work. Cheers for any suggestions. Here is a copy of the .vpj file for anyone's convenience: http://www.filedropper.com/blockboyaa2crash
  8. Hey Nat. What you have suggested worked beautifully. Thanks for the help, it is much appreciated. -bLOCKbOYgAMES
  9. Hi everyone. I was just wondering if there was a quick way to snap a series of disconnected clips together. (In this case photos.) I am making a frame by frame animation and need to be able to snap many clips together at once, rather than manually dragging each clip individually and joining it to the previous one. (For example, today I imported 100 new .png.s, and shortened them all to 6ms in length, from their original length of maybe 500ms. Now dragging each individually to rejoin them is time consuming and I am hoping there is a simple way to select all clips and have them snapped together. Thanks in advance for any replies, and thanks for a pretty neat product. cheers -bLOCKbOYgAMES
