  1. Alex, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have 3 quarter notes that need to become a tuplet in the space of 1 quarter not beat. I clicked the tuplet tool, then clicked the first and last of my 3 notes. Nothing. I tried again, this time holding down the shift key. Nothing. I had it work on another project, but when I tried to paste that measure elsewhere, even within the same song, the bracket didn'tt appear. I tried right clicking the tuplet to play with the dialog options, but I don't understand the terminology. Some examples would halp. Even playing with those terms (bracket above, below, using eighth notes, 16ths, etc.), nothing changed. Would you consider posting a tutorial on youtube?

  3. It would be nice if along with the flourishes, there would be an option for an x. I'm going to try a tiny font x and a comment like DRUMS or CLOCK TICK or DRUMSTICKS.
  4. If the Sop. and Alto "move" together, create 2-note chords. Do the same for T and B. The software hasn't been able to hold one note while another moves. (e.g., an "Amen" where S holds the Ah for a half note, while A sings two quarter notes). The work-around is to show it all in quarter notes and tie the Sop line. The other option is do Alt + P to bring up parts. add two more lines, one for A and another for A. Even if they show up in the wrong place,, you can highlight each one, and move it up to the right level in the stave.

  6. I found an answer, or , at least, a "work-around." I double click to open the text, edit it, do a Cntr + C to copy it, then delete it, and click Enter to Set the blank line of text. Next I hit Escape and the line of text, too close to notes, disappears. I then click the Txt button to create a new line, which can be easily positioned. I do Cntr + V to paste the updated text, click Set, and voila!, the line of text is exactly where I want it.
  7. Does Crescendo support automatic page numbering of scores? Or must we manually place it on each page as Text?
  8. I found a way. I right click in a blank area of a staff (this works with a new staff as well as one where notes and words are already entered). A menu pops up. Select Spacing. The default is 0.94 inches. I reduced it to .5 inches on one project, and .8 on another. Works great. Thanks!
  9. I must be getting better at using this program, cuz my questions now pertain to more advanced problems. The latest: After clicking the Text button, attaching the dotted line to a note or rest, and using the space bar to position words or chords over notes, and SETTING the text, it sometimes is necessary to re-open that line of text. Each time I double click to open the text line to edit it, the line crowds closer to the staff. How can I stop that? Control + Z helps but doesn't solve the problem when the original line of text obscures the notes. How can I control the location of the text line. I want to move it far enough away from the staff that notes, dynamics and chords are clearly visible.
  10. I thought I could start the third line of a piano accompaniment with both hands playing bass clef. I switched that line from Treble to Bass , but .... it changed every clef in the song. It moved the notes as well. Groan! So how do I change the clef ONLY for that line? Also, how can I switch clefs within a single measure?? I tried to import a graphic clef from Word and insert it as text, but the text tool handles only text, not images. Is it possible to change within a measure for part of a measure? If not, can you suggest a work-around?
  11. I know how to start a staff with either a Treble or Bass Clef sign and I can change it at the start of the line. But what if you need to change within a measure for part of a measure? Is it possible? If not, can you suggest a work-around?
  12. I also am frustrated by bar insertion. Cntr + B places bars only at the end of the score. I've copied and pasted some measures to form an interlude, or where a riff repeats, but if it doesn't fit on the staff, it goes to the next one. That creates a really wide measure on the prior staff, and nothing I've tried allows me to add bar lines to a prior line. It keeps crashing. The bar insertion problem appears consistently when copying/pasting. I can paste several measures, but the last measure lacks a closing bar, and is too wide (it occupies the remainder of a stave). It's impossible to insert a new bar at the end of the pasted material. Instead it pastes onto the next staff. I've tried adding more notes, hoping to exceed capacity. On one occasion a bar automatically inserted at the end of the first measure, b ut most of the time, it just lets me add notes without auto-insert. And when I try to insert a bar to separate adjacent notes, it locks up.
  13. Someone suggested using three eigth notes barred, and adding a slur and the numeral 3. But there are two sources of tuplet tools. I had good luck with one of them, but no longer. Please cover this in your on- line guide. Do you click the tool and then the first of the three notes? Or do you highlight the three notes, then click the tool? Nothing seems to work. Help!
  14. I want to put a slur mark connecting several notes. But the program seems to allow only to tie two adjacent notes. Any suggestions?
  15. I'm new to the program, but if after you enter the triplet, you immediately hit the triplet tool to link those three notes, you should be able to add the eigth notes afterwards. I haven't found a solution to keeping an eigth note with a tail, followed by two barred eights. It wants to bar the first two and leave the last one with the tail. Any suggestions would be helpful.
