  1. I have the same problem with an upgraded Win 7/64 system and nothing seems to fix it.
  2. Go into Desktop Properties go to Adapter settings, click Advanced, Click Troubleshoot and turn off hardware acceleration (completely to 0). Sounds like you're trying to record an overlay, which you can't. IE, the video is not really on the main screen, it's sitting on top of it generated by your video card. Debut cannot capture that. Disable hardware acceleration and you should get your video to record.
  3. Do you have "Stereo Mix" or "What you hear" available in your device list? If not, check your realtek driver. I had a similar issue - none of my devices worked for sound. Video OK, no sound. Downloaded and installed the most current driver from RealTek (or your motherboard manufacturer) and Stereo Mix suddenly appeared and audio was good to go.
